Brad, I'm already signed up as a worker. Will workers be needed on all three days, or just on Saturday and Sunday? When will we get our assignments?
Hey Autocrossers!
I need your attention for a few moments please. We’ve got a unique, FUN National Autocross event coming to the Texas!!
The Texas CAM Challenge on the weekend of May 20, 21, 22. If you’ve got a American Muscle car even if you’re not a regular autocrosser, this event is for YOU!
What’s this all about?? Read on my friends!!
Classic America Muscle (CAM) is one of the newest classes in SCCA Solo. CAM is intended for ANY American made Muscle car. SCCA decided to put together 3 events across the country intended specifically for CAM drivers to experience autocross in a national autocross competition event flavor. Texas is one of the lucky areas this year to have this event!
CAM Challenge events are running a modified version of the “Tire Rack SCCA Match Tour Rules”. CAM classes at the events will be broken into 3 classes. (CAM-T, CAM-C and CAM-S). Each driver will get three runs on Saturday morning and three runs on Saturday afternoon. Trophies for the top competitors in each class will be given out at the Saturday night BBQ dinner & BEER sponsored by Dusold Designs! Everyone entered in the event are welcomed to the dinner! Trophies will be awarded based on the driver’s best run in the morning added to their best time in the afternoon. On Sunday morning everyone will get three runs to qualify for the CAM Challenge. The top 16 drivers (based on the Sunday morning runs) in each class will earn their way into the CAM Challenge. If we do not have enough drivers in a class to get to 16 we will do a random draw to fill the field. The three winners of the CAM Challenge classes will run off to determine an overall winner. All cars running will run straight up until the final three are determined. The PAX indexes for each CAM class will be used for scoring the CAM Finals on Sunday.
If you’re looking for a little extra practice before the event, Friday there will be practice runs from 11am to 3pm at the site.
Here’s the rules for the event:

NOW, I need some help from our regular autocrossers!

To sweeten the deal, SCCA National is offering an “Worker Index PAX Class” for all non-CAM entries with only a $25 entry fee!! Friday & Saturday parties included. You’ll get three runs on Saturday morning and three runs on Saturday afternoon. And a trophy will be awarded to TOP Worker Index PAX Class winner at the Saturday night dinner. (Trophy sponsored by Vorshlag Motorsports!) In addition, the Worker Index Class entries also get 3 runs during the qualifying of the Sunday portion of the event. Brad, I'm already signed up as a worker. Will workers be needed on all three days, or just on Saturday and Sunday? When will we get our assignments?
I am in for Saturday worker.

Wow--so the whole show is for us oldies?
I can bring out my "other" car, but I haven't autocrossed it since 2010.
New 200-rating tires on it. That'll be fun!
Paul
That's bitchin! You should definitely come out!

Thanks for signing up on the worker option!!
Workers are needed for Saturday & Sunday. If you're available on Friday, we could use some help with Test-n-tune from 11 to 3, but it's not required.
Thanks Brad!! Really hoped more folks would jump at this.
Perfect for this event! If you enter, you'll find that this course is a bit more "open" than a typical autocross course!
...so like a BMW event at MW?

can't make this event
I'm already signed up for track day on Sat at Cresson and to do lead-follow on TMS infield on Sun at the annual Lone
Star Classic
and feedback to SCCA National office -- there are several of us that do not like the Match Tour format and therefore won't run those events
I will likely show up on Friday to see the cars
thinking of trying CAM S in my Zee
2009 MX-5 STR and track toy
2003 Z06 -- Not a Miata, but 3200# and 400 RWHP is fun
OTM -- 2012 Sierra, 2016 Impala (Appliances)
Anyone know if they will offer a SAt morning tech?

Is there a list of worker class entries?
M3 is always the answer.
Maxey says there is a Saturday morning early tech.

At check in, they said there was only 16 workers entered. I didn't see the list though. The course is gonna be fast. Very similar to a BMW course. The whole lot is being used. Should be fast and fun!
Looked like one helluva course today. Gotta teach Neff that 3-4 is not a downshift.
The course was VERY fun. Lots of speed everywhere!

Took two runs today. Do not downshift into 4th at 80 you will not make the corner... Stupid fun Thanks to Bob & Sharon for shaking down the car. Locals killed the challenge. Mike D, Scott S, Mad Mark in the final. Thanks TXRSCCA
